Once a month or more, NLP Canada Training hosts an evening workshop. Workshops run from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at 47 Queen's Park Cres. E. and require registration.
These workshops allow us to do three things:
1) Gather people who have trained with us so that they can maintain both their skills and their network.
2) Introduce new people to some aspects of NLP and to some of the people who have already experienced our training.
3) Develop fresh new ideas while supporting causes that are important to us. Most workshops are PWYC by donation to a specified charity.
The list below contains some of our "greatest hits." If there's one that interests you but does not appear on our schedule, please let us know. These programs can be offered to your non-profit community group for a nominal fee.
5 Steps to Better Networking
Showing up is a great first step, but it's not enough. If all you are doing at networking events is showing up, you're missing the steps that would make those events more productive and more enjoyable.
Learn to set goals and follow a process that is flexible enough to allow you to identify new opportunities and structured enough to keep you on track. NLP and Mindfulness
Mindfulness is often defined as moment to moment awareness of one’s experience in the present moment. It has been around for thousands of years and offers a simple way of centering yourself in the midst of stress, overwhelm, and any of life’s challenges. Conversely, it’s also used to expand the joys, triumphs, and successes that life equally gives us. It is a form of state management used by CEOs, health professionals, salespeople, cab drivers, and everyone in between. In this evening course, you will learn how the practices of mindfulness and NLP overlap each other, and how you can harness them to handle every aspect of life with greater congruence, rapport, and focus. You will learn a little about how your brain works, a little about the connections that allow us to enjoy our goals, and a little more about how to set goals that will work for you.
This is a great opportunity to experience some of the practices and principles of NLP. If you are new to NLP, you will find it practical, intuitive, and effective. If you're an experienced NLPer, you will enjoy the support of your trainers and the group as you set your direction for the new year.
Great Connections: Rapport with NLP
This evening is an introduction to the NLP practices that develop and deepen rapport. You will play games, practice non-verbal communication, tell stories and become more observant. It sounds like a lot of work for two hours: you will experience it as a lot of fun. We guarantee that there will be laughter. Connecting with new people feels really good.
Come prepared to learn some of the basics of NLP, to ask questions about how far rapport can take you in building positive relationships, and to practice what we preach. Even experienced NLPers will enjoy this opportunities to sharpen attention their skills.

You have what you need to focus clearly on the results you want to achieve. This evening will combine presentation, demonstration and conversation. You will develop new techniques for focusing quickly and effectively, and for refocusing when you encounter challenges or opportunities.
Of course, it may be that you are naturally very focused and it is the people around you who need help to stay focused. You will find that the techniques you learn in this extraordinary evening will be easy to foster in the people around you who need to focus more often or more clearly.
How Hypnosis Works
Have you ever watched a stage hypnotist and wondered how s/he was getting results? Maybe you've heard that a friend quit smoking or lost weight after visiting a hypnotist. Does it seem incredible that such great results could come from what seems like so little activity?
In this two hour session, Linda Ferguson will introduce you to the principles that make hypnosis effective, and demonstrate that they are already working in your life whenever you are successfully engaged in getting good results. You'll experience the difference components that build effective trances, and learn the difference between stage hypnosis, working with a hypnotist and self-hypnosis.
This is a great building block for anyone considering either learning hypnosis or visiting a hypnotist to work on specific issues.
Inspired! An Introduction to NLP
Have you ever wished you felt more inspired? Maybe you are looking at a task or a problem and wishing you had some new ideas on how to manage it better. Maybe you are looking at someone else and wondering what you can do or say to inspire them.
Inspiration is a state that includes ideas, feelings, and physical sensations. Like other states, it is produced when your brain and body communicate in a particular pattern. Like other states, it is the product of conscious awareness and unconscious choices. Like other states, it can be understood as a pattern so that it can be replicated.
If you are new to our training or to NLP, this is a great place to start. If you have trained with us before, you'll love this program.

NLP & the Enneagram
Would you like to know how to hear what your choice of words is saying about you? Would you like to choose your words to make an impact on different types of people? This evening will introduce you to the Enneagram: an effective, flexible system of personality types that describes nine different ways of interacting with the world. It will also introduce the meta-model, an NLP based set of tools for understanding how the language people uses reflects and influences the way they perceive themselves and the world. When you put them together, you have an elegant set of practices for recognizing the patterns people are using to live and work.
This two hour evening is suitable for people who have already experienced NLP and/or the Enneagram, and for people who want to know more before studying either NLP or the Enneagram. It will feature a plain language overview of the material, and a chance to participate in exercises that allow you to get hands-on experience of how NLP and the Enneagram work.
Relaxed and Ready
Whether you are working hard towards a goal or taking a hit that you didn't see coming, you are likely to be in one of two states. You might be really stressed. When that feels good, we use words like "pumped" and when it becomes too much too handle, we say we are "stressed out." Stress is like a warning that tells us to be 100% attentive to either danger or opportunity. It's exhausting and when it exhausts us, it is dangerous in itself.
There's a better choice. You can choose to be relaxed and ready. In sports, relaxed and ready allows athletes to direct all their energy and attention where it will be most effective. Instead of consuming energy to maintain a level of stress, they put every once of effort where it will produce real results. Athletes who play contact sports know another thing about relaxed and ready: if you have to take a hit, relaxed and ready allows you to take it without injury and get back to work immediately.
