The HOPE Symposium

On Saturday, September 17, 2011, we will hold the 3rd Annual HOPE Symposium.  About 20 different speakers will deliver short, intriguing presentations on different aspects of inspiring change in themselves and others.  If you're interested in NLP, this is an amazing chance to experience the full range of ways it can make a difference. You'll hear from business people who use NLP-generated insights to understand their clients and drive results. You'll hear from therapists for mind and body who are dedicated to uncovering the resources that make life more satisfying. And you'll hear from people like you, people making changes in their own lives so they can make a difference in their organizations and communities. You will even have a chance to ask questions, network with other participants and discover how quickly NLP can bring people together.

Our theme this year will be "Is it better to lead with truth or with hope?" Mike Murray will open the day with a keynote on "Scientists and Salespeople." Three panels of speakers will explore our topic as it applies to Wellness, Business, and Personal Vision.  The audience will have a chance to hear more than 15 accomplished speakers from fields as diverse as therapy, entrepreneurship, teaching, coaching and marketing.  Linda Ferguson will wrap up the day with a closing keynote that will encourage you to tell bigger stories about your life and your work.

In 2009, NLP Canada Training held its first HOPE Symposium.  We are very proud of the people we train, and we wanted to create a forum for them to talk about the way they use NLP to create a belief that good things are possible.  As you might remember, the fall of 2009 was not a particularly hopeful time. Many of our speakers described experiences that were dark and difficult, experiences where hope was both a light and a mirage.  Over and over, we heard stories of resilience and results from speakers in fields that ranged from working with young people to building better models for making business decisions. Through honesty, realism and persistence, the mood in the room shifted.  We began to laugh. We began to dream. We began to know what HOPE changes.
